Disability advocates are calling on state health officials to clarify COVID-19 vaccination guidance for live-in caregivers, who are often parents caring for children with disabilities. Advocates say by vaccinating caregivers, they can protect the vulnerable who are yet to be eligible for the vaccine, but now those caregivers are running into issues. It was a win for the disability community last week when Minnesota Department of Health Infectious Disease Director Kris Ehresmann confirmed that unpaid caregivers are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.
